PACT NOT VALID.
Pre-Marital Agreement Against Children. FIVE YEARS' LITIGATION. (Received 10 a.m.) ROME, July 4. The Supreme Court, giving judgment in the case of S ignore Emilia Riva, who was married in 1921, upheld the finding of a Papal ecclesiastical court that an agreement prior to marriage to avoid pro-creation of children invalidated the marriage. Litigation had been proceeding for five years, and began in Peking, where an ecclesiastical court declared that matrimonial accord is an act whereby both parties give and accept an eternal right for pro-creation of children, and that any pact with the opposite effect, signed before marriage, is contrary to its scope.
