PORT BOWEN ARRIVES

MAUNGANUI IN THE MORNING.

TREDINMICK IK FORT. H.M.S. ENDEAVOUR FOR SURVEY. The Port Line steamer Port Bowen, 8267 tons (Captain Thomas), arrived from London shortly after 3 p.m. to-day and berthed at the Queen's wharf. She left London on May 28 and has been delayed by heavy weather during the last three days. She comes, to the agency of the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, and is expected to leave for Wellington on Thursday. The Union Company's intercolonial steamer Maunganui will arrive from Sydney at 7 a.m. to-morrow and berths at the Central wharf at 7.30 to land passengers, mails and cargo. She sails for Sydney on Thursday at 8 p.m. Underthe agency of the M.A.-N.Z. Line, the Hain Company's steamer Tredinnick, 4.389 tons, which left Montreal on May 22, arrived yesterday afternoon and berthed at the Prince's wharf. She is expected to leave on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The survey ship H.M.S. Endeavour left for the inner gulf at 9.30 a.m. to-day to start the work of resurveying the coast of New Zealand, which is estimated to take five years. Her first soundings will be taken in "the Tamaki Strait, between the mainland and Waiheke Island, afterwards working through the Ponui and Waiheke Passages into the gulf. Fordsdale left for Wellington at 6 p.m. on Saturday to continue loading for London, sailing from Lyttelton on July 21. (A.S.P.) Huntingdon arrived from New Plymouth at 10 a.m. yesterday and berthed at the King's wharf. She is loading for London and West Coast ports, and goes to Opua on Wednesday. (N.Z.S. Co.) .
