WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland BUr" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Light to moderate westerly winds, backing to southerly within 24 hours and freshening. Weather fair at first, but becoming cold and changeable, with showers developing. Seas slight to moderate, but later rising. A shallow westerly depression is passing in the south to-day, but an intense anti-cyclone covers Australia and is moving towards the south-east quarter. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate westerlies, after .about 16 hours backing to south and freshening. There is a prospect of fair weather, but after about 16 hours cold and changeable, with some showers. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. .The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west, light; sea, smooth; weather, fine, but cloudy; visibility, good; barometer, steady.
