GLOUCESTER GAME.

DOMINION MAKES 362.

LAMASON STILL IN FORM.

THREE MORE LBW DECISIONS.

LONDON, July 4. The New Zealand cricket team commenced a match on Saturday against the Gloucestershire County eleven, at Bristol. The weather was fine and the wicket in good order. The county team comprised: B. O. Allen (captain), Hammond, Goddard, Sinfield, Barnett, Neale, Crapp, Watkins, Emmett, Haynes, Cranfield. The new confidence in New Zealand's batting, first evident in the match against Nottingham and maintained against Somerset at Taunton, was shown again at Bristol. The tourists scored steadily against the shrewd attack of the veterans, Goddard and Sinfield, the left-hand bowling of Emmett, and the swinging deliveries of Barnett and Cranfield. Lamason was forceful, especially in his off-driving and leg shots. He secured seven fours and four threes. Donnelly Aggressive. Donnelly, scarcely waiting to settle down, attacked the bowling energetically in scoring a sparkling half-century in half an hour. He hit 10 fours and was caught close to the sight screen off a shot which was nearly a six. Moloney batted patiently and correctly for nearly three hours, his score including four fours. Weir and Roberts added 91 runs for the eighth wicket in an hour. Weir's displaywas a mixture of caution and aggression. He hit two fours and a six in one over from Goddard, securing altogether eight fours.

Roberts progressed steadily and played a chanceless innings. He' gained five fours and three threes, mostly with powerful drives. Clean ground fielding helped' to keep down the score. The tourists batted for nearly fire hours and Gloucester for SO minutes; Happy Crowd and Lord Bledlsloe. A happy crowd of 8000 was generous in its applause. Lord Bledisloe. a former GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, was present, and in a speech through loud-speakers said that he was pleased to welcome worthy representatives of a beautiful and loyal Dominion. He appealed for contributions to a ground improvement fund. A collection taken on the ground, in which Page, Vivian and Donnelly assisted, realised £39. The New Zealanders will visit Lydney Park to-morrow as guests of Lord and Lady Bledkloe. Scores:— NEW ZEALAND.—First Innings.
