MUSIC LOVERS' CLUB.
GRAND AND LIGHT OPERA. The fourth meeting of the season by the Music Lovers' Club waa held in the rooms of the Oversea* League on Thurs day evening last, when there wa« a large attendance of members and guests. The programme arranged by the president, Mr. Walter Impett, was of a high standard, end included in the first part the following excerpts from grand and light opera:—"M'appari tutt amor," from "Martha" (Flotow), Mr Edgar M. Bishop: "The Fishermen of England." from "The Rebel Maid" (Mon tague Phillips). Mr. Alfred Porter; "Oiu Fine Day," from "Madame Butterfly' (Puccini), Miss Lorna .lohnson; "Vulcan's Sontr," from "Philemon and Baucis" (Gounod), Mr. John Bond; "Or With the Motley." from "Pagliacci' (Leoncavallo), Mr. Wilfred Robbins; "Softly Awakes My Heart." from "Samson and Delilah" (Xaint-Saens). Mrs Norman Dimery; "Gipsy Love Soup,' from "The Fortune Teller" (Victor Her, l>ert). Mr. Fred Walker; vocal duet "Trot Here and There.' from "Veronique." (Messager), Miss Lorna Johnson and Mr. Alfred Porter. The well-varied second part included the songs: "After the Rain, the Roses" (Maurice Besby) and '"Song of the Open" (La Forge), Miss Eileen Yeoman; "She is Far from the Land" (Lambert), Mr. Fred Waikcr; "In Sympathy" -(Leoni), Mr. Edgar M. B;shop; "I Don't Supposs" (Trotere). Mr. Wilfred Robbins; (a) "Flower Song" (Rowley), (b) "Daffodils a-Blowing" (Edward German), Mrs. W. E. Moore; "Because a Rain is Falling" (Morell), Mrs. Xorman Dimery; "The Green-eyed Dragon" (Wolseley Charles), Mr. John Bond. Two 'cello solos, "Priere" and "Drink to Me Only" (W. H. Squire) were contributed by Mr. C. Edwards. The accompanists were: Mrs. K. W. Robbins, Mis* E. Postles and Messrs. Walter Impett and J. Aldridge.
