A jockey, Charles Edward Brown, alias Charles Carmont (21), was charged in the Rotorua Court this morning with vagrancy. He was convicted and sentenced to 21 day-* imprisonment. Brown ajrain approached him with a mes=ajre from the Auckland man purporting to guarantee a loan. In the meantime the police found the ear parked behind a hotel with the num-ber-plates under the back seat. The police partly dismantled the car, so that it could not be driven away. When arrested Brown had no money and in addition to incurring 14/ toll charces, was also unable to pay his hotel bill."
