CAMPAIGN FOR £12,000.
Hxraruoir or activities. Intensive organisation and preparatory work have been going on for several weeks in connection with the campaign undertaken by the Y.M.CA. in Auckland to raise £12,000 within a fortnight. An appeal for donations will be officially launched on Wednesday. The excellent service rendered to the youth of the city, and of cities all over the world, is fully recognised by citizens. With the growth of the work remodelling and adaptation of the present headquarters in Wellesley Street, erected in 1015, has become essential. Officials of the organisation are also anxious to reduce the indebtedness, ao that money in the meantime paid as interest may be devoted to progressive work. Mr. H. B. Burnett is chairman of the campaign committee, in addition to which five sub-committees have been appointed to control different phases of the campaign. To make contact with the business and social organisations team committees of 10 men each have been elected. Mr. W. Goodfellow is chairman of the central committee. The team captains are:—Professor W. Anderson, Messrs. J. L. Blackznore, A. T. Dow, D. R. Fairgray, W. F. Fowlds, J. B. Johnston, A. E. Lawry, O. Malcolm, J. Victor Macky, H. T. Stevens, L. K. Munro, .S. Takle, R. Wood and Dr. Howard Lawry.
