BULL OR CALF?
LAUGHTER IN COURT. At what age does a bull calf become a bull was the subject of an argument between a farmer and the town board inspector in the Police Court at I'apakura yesterday. The case was one of straying cattle, the farmer facing two charges of allowing a bull to stray. The fanner denied that the animal was a bull, and said it was only a calf a few months old tind on the bucket. "You would not call a boy a man. your Worship." said the farmer amidst laughter. The inspector said the animal in question was a yearling and a bull all riL'ht. Another board cmplovte. who was called as a witness, was a>ked by counsel to define the animal. The witness was very candid, and said he was sure lit was a bull because it wa-n't a cow. | Mild proceeded to explain the difference. | Ihe Court wus convulsed.
