"STREET SLEEPERS."

The English "War Cry" says that no one need sleep in the streets of London. When a census was taken on the night of February 1!), 34 men and eight women ■wero found sleeping in the street*. On the same night there were fiOO free vacant beds in voluntary hostels, and a further 200 iri hostels run by the London County Council. Twenty years ago 400 people were sleeping out when a census was tflken, and 30 years ago 1800 wore reported. The social problem has radically changed since William Booth's "Darkest England" scheme aroused the consciences of the people. Absolute penury im nob more than a shadow of what it was.
