MOMENTOUS VOTE.
Irish Free State Election Issue. NEW CONSTITUTION PROPOSAL. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 1. It is estimated that 1,250,000 of the 1.700,000 electors voted in the Free State election to-day, the main issue being the new Constitution. No results will be available until to-morrow. There are live women among the 254 candidates. CEMETERY RAIDED. MEMORIAL CROSS GELIGNITED. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 1. The 12ft Republican memorial cross erected in 1912 in memory of "Those who died for the freedom of Ireland." was blown up by gelignite at Milltown Cemetery. Belfast. Beneath was buried a Republican executed by Free State authorities.
