THE HURDLE RACE. RECENT FORM OF CANDIDATES... The V.R.C. Grand National Hurdle Race, to be run at Flcmington to-morrow, lias attracted a field of thirteen. l'ooley Bridge, who won tile event last year with 11.3, was successful in the York Hurdles on the same course last month, but after his schooling displays last week, and the lact that he-lost his rider when contesting the Windarra Hurdles, two miles and a furlong, at Moonee Valleylast Saturday, he is stated to be in disgiace. If l'ooley Bridge succeeds tomorrow lie will easily establish a record loin a weight point of dew, for the Highest impost yet carried to victory in this race is 11.12 by Redleap in 1892. Highland Fling, like Jooley Bridge, also lost bis rider at Moonee Valley last Saturdav. Triteleia accounted for the Federal Hurdles, two miles and a furlong, at Moonee Valley on May 29, which made his fourth successive victory, and he will be one of the best fancied. Devonbrook, who is also engaged to-morrow, was second on that occasion. Bridge of Mar occupied a similar position in the York Hurdles at Flemington to Poolcy Bridge, while Dakwood. after his success in the Toolambool Hurdles at Caulfield on June 19, brought himself into favour foi" the Flemington event, for his victory was achieved in such a manner as to give his supporters crea.t hope that he will take a prominent part to-morrow. He was also second to Mystery Ship in the Wandarra Hurdles at Moonee Valley last Saturday, and lie has raced most consistently since last October. Tapageur won the Port Phillip Hurdles at Williamstown last month, beating Sea Scout and Kulhain. while King Siris. who is also ongaced, was third to Pooley Bridge and Bridge of Mitr in the York Hurdles at Flemington.
