Farewell To Sir James Barrie.
Sorrorv came lo Budgctland, when, as these pages were feeing prepared, word was received of the death of Sir James Barrie. famous author, and originator of the greatly loved story "Peter Pan and Wendy." Here in far-away New Zealand we think kmdly and lovingly of this Scottish man, whose immortal story of Peter Pan has been our inspiration since the first Budget page appeared on July 12, 1926. The spirit of his immortal story of the little boy who wouldn't grow up transmitted itself to us who have assumed the names of Barrie's creation. Next week — almost the celebration of our eleventh anniversary — We will dedicate our Budget lo him who is known throughout a world unbounded by colour or class as the friend of children.
