Notice is hereby given that the Newmarket Borough Council proposes at a Special Meeting, to be held in the Council Chambers, Broadway, at 10.30 a.m. on FRIDAY, the 23rd day of July, 1937, to consider the confirmation of the following Resolution intended to operate as a Special Order and passed at a Special Meeting of the Council held for that purpose on THURSDAY, the 24th day of June, 1937, viz.:—» RESOLUTION. "That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and amendments, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and regulations thereunder. Section 14 of the Finance Act, No. 2. 1936. and every other power in that behalf enabling it. the Newmarket Borough Council hereby authorises the raising of a Special Loan of £5500 for the purpose of completing the development of Sarawia Street as a recreation ground, for the relief of unemployment. "That the security for such loan shall be a Special Rate sufficient to cover interest and sinking fund charges as required by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and amendments; that the currency of the loan be fur a period not exceeding thirty (30) years: that the interest payable be at a rate not exceeding three and one-half (3J) per cent per annum ; that a sinking fund of not less than two (2) per cent per annum be established ; and that it is not intended to pay any portion of either interest or sinking fund out of the said loan. "That it is proposed to raise this loan under the urovisions of Section 14 of the Finance Act, No. 2, 1936. and a Poll of the Ratepayers is required to be taken if five per centum of the ratepayers of the district so demand by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the Newmarket Borough Council."
