OPENING CELEBRATED.
TRAINING COLLEGE HALL,
The new assembly hall at the Auckland Teachers' Training College was the scene last night of a gay dance, which was held to celebrate its opening. The hall, with its deep cream walls and fawn curtains, was simply decorated with bright autumn foliage and tall stands of palms, decorations which showed off its fine architecture best advantage. Tall palms were also used to decorate the entrance hall, while the women's common room and three of the Jecture rooms, which were used for supper, were decorated with irises, early Iceland jxjgpies.. ■ ~ The guests, who included members of the' teaching staff, their wives, and students, were received by the principal of the college, Mr. D, M, Rae, and Mrs. Rae, who was wearing a frock of patterned silk in pastel tonings. The committee responsible for the evening's arrangements comprised:— Misses H. Davies, B. Haden, C. Gribble, P. Smith, F. Waldorf and Messrs. E. Casey, C. Belgrave, R. Sanders, G. Allcock and P.
