NATIONAL PARTY.
CARD AFTERNOON HELD.
The Women'* Association of the New Zealand, National party held a bridge afternoon in the Penwomen>clubrboms on TkuTsday, There was a particularly large gathering of members and visitors present at the function. The prizes, which were donated by Mrs. Gillies Martin and Mrs. E. Smythe, were won by Mrs. R. H. McCallum,fand Mrs. A. Bagley. The vice-president of the association, Miss Alice Basten, presented the prizes to the winners. During an interval in the play afternoon tea was served by the committee. Mrs. F. Southen, the convener of th<? bridge circle, arranged the function with the assistance of a committee which comprised: —Mesdames Gillies Martin, E. Smythe, E. M. Gould, A. Grundy, E. Beale, F. Palmer, L. Clark, A. W. Black, ,-M. P. Wakeman, A- Wrigley, F. W. Doidge, N. Speary and Misses J. Campbell and St. George.
