Taking advantage of the concellation of the senior competition as a result of the Auckland Rugby League granting the Soccer authorities the use of Carlaw Park for the second Test between England and New Zealand, six of the senior teams journeyed abroad on Saturday. A spectacular exhibition of the code was Riven at Newtown Park, Wellington, on Saturday, when Ponsonby drew with the St. George (Wellington) thirteen, each side scoring 20 points. At the Interval Pon sonby were behind by 15 points, but they staged a good recovery to draw level with the opposition. MOUNT ALBERT'S SUCCESS. Before a large crowd at New Plymouth Mount Albert accounted for a local team by 28 points to 15. The game was fast nud open and keenly contested throughout. The finish of the visitors was the d-ciding factor of the highly entertaining game. CITY AT TAUPO. Producing good form in a match at Tokaanu, the Auckland City team defeated the Taupo district representatives by 35 points to 25. The game attracted a large crowd of spectators, who were treated to a fast and willing encounter, in which both trams threw the ball about attractively.

HEMI'S GREAT DAY. (By Telegraph. —Special to "Star.") TANEATUA, Saturday. There was brilliant weather and a record attendance for the Rugby League match played here to-day between Manukau, Auckland, and th« Bay of Plenty representatives. The game resulted in a win for Manukau by ;>1 points to 33. The play was fast and open, and the ball was thrown about with a glad abandon. Scores came quickly. The Manukau team showed a better understanding of the game, out the Bay fought back well all the way, and they have players in their ranke who would make good if they had a chance in city football. The brilliance of the Chase brothers was a feature of the Manukau play. It. Chase, with a keen eye for an opening, repeatedly putting Manukau in a favourable position, while T.
