Mr. E. A. Frethey leaves to-night by the Limited for Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. >Silk. of Wanganui. have arrived in Auckland from the South, and are at the Hotel C'argen. Sir Charles Norwood, chairman of directors of Dominion Motors. Ltd., will leave to-night by the Limited for Wellington. The Minister of Justice and AttorneyGeneral, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, will leave to-night by the Limited for Wellington. Mr. J. T. Reid has been elected a representative of St. Peter's Cathedral district on the Waikato Diocesan Synod. Flying-Officer C. W. K. Nicholls, Royal Air Force, and formerly of Auckland, has been appointed instructor to a flying training squadron, Abu Seuir, Egypt. Sir James Parr has taken a house in Richmond, London, and will spend six months in England investigating matters of interest to New Zealand, states a message from London. Mr. John Frater, chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange, left this afternoon by the express for Wellington to attend a meetinjr of the executive of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand. Mr. S. E. West, assistant -engineer t<j the Hamilton Borough Council, has resigned to take an appointment as resident engineer for Anderson's, Ltd.. Christoliurch, on the construction of a large gold dredge on the West Coast. The dredge is stated to be the largest in the world. Mr. L. de Gielgud, under-secretary of the League of Red Cross Societies in Paris, is expected to arrive in New Zealand about the middle of September. Mr. de Gielgud, who is at present in Japan engaged on Red Cross organisation work, will make a complete tour of New Zealand.
