PRICES AT MATIERE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a good entry of sheep, cattle and pigs at -Messrs. Dalgety and Company's Matiere eale, and although pigs were Very.' 'dull of sale, sheep and cattle were in strong demand. There was a good attendance of farmers and outside buyers, and bidding at times was lively for lambs and fat jcattle. Fat cows were all of good quality, and £5 17/ was the top price realised. Fat heifers sold up to £4 17/6, and store steers made from £4 17/ to £5. The best price realised for wether lambs was 21/7, and practically the whole yarding was cleared under the hammer at prices satisfactory to the vendors. Quotations: — Sheep.—Wether lambs, 16/9 to 21/7. Cattle.—Fat cows, £4, £4 9/, £4 17/6, £5 10/ to £5 17/; fat heifers, £4 10/ to £4 17/6; store steers, £4 17/ to £5; empty cows, £3 2/6; heifers, £4 o/; run cows, £2 2/6; weaners, £1 10/ to £2 5/; cows and calves, £4; bulls, £5 10/.
