SAFE BLOWN OPEN.
RAID OK COUNTRY STORE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, this day. Safeblowers have again been at work in this district. On Saturday night the general store of Mr. William McConnell at Waimana was entered by forcing the back door. The safe was removed 1 and taken into a paddock not far awav and lilown open with gelignite, the sum of £8 being stolen. The safe was discovered in the paddock yesterday morn-
Thieves also broke into the County Council toolshcd in the locality and stole a quantity of gelignite.
