PHILISTINES MEET.
GAY REVEL HELD.
The Amateur Operatic Society's Hall was the scene on Saturday night of e gay Philistine Eevel. The guests were received by the chairman, Mr. H. T. King and Mrs. King, the latter in a frock of black romaine, relieved . with Chinese red. A -musical programme was arranged, including violin solos by Mr. Vincent Aspey, humorous items by Mr. Alan McElwain, and songs by Miss Winifred Hill, Mr. Geoff Laird and Mr. Leslie Russell. The accompanists were Mr. George Aspey and Mr. Alan Pow. Among those present were: Mesdames W. J. Dallen, C. D. McLean, R. Widdicombs, J. W. Wilson, N. Dixon, A. Woolley, W. J. Spring, H.
