LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

AUCKLAND CONTROL.

MEMORIAL FUND DONATION.

BAY OF PUBNTY PRESIDENT WELCOMED. At the meeting of the Control Board of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, the chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, stated that since the last meeting the question of broadcasting had been .raised by other sporting bodies, and he noticed that the Swimming Association was acting. The matter would come before the sports body organisation commitee previously set up under the auspices of the W.E.A., to make representations to the Government.

On.the motion of the chairman it was decided to make a donation of 50 guineas to the Mayors King George V. Health camp Memorial Fund.

A hearty welcome was extended to Mill. C. MeCready, president of the Bay of Plenty Rugby League. In acknowledging the compliment, Mr. MeCready outlined some features of progress since the new league wa« recently established. He felt confident that the Auckland League would give all assistance possible in advancing the movement.

The grounds committee reported that the No. 2 ground at Carlaw Park was in bad condition, and it was desirable to give the area some relief if possible. The board resolved to defer the allocation of the City v. Newton and the Marist v. Richmond matches.

The schools' management wrote submitting a letter for the New Zealand Council* urging a definite national policy being adopted to assist other centres in the encouragement of school football. It was decided to refer the communication to the council as requested.
