United Press Association.—Copyright

(Received 12.30 p.m.)

LONDON, Mav 13.

A mysterious explosion badly damaged the bows of the British destroyer Hunter five mile* from Almeria. It is reported that three of the complement were killed and 12 injured.

The Spanish Government rushed the Jaime Primero and the destroyer Lazaga, also aeroplanes to the scene. The Hunter was taken in tow by the Lazaga and reached Almeria, where the injured were taken to hospital.

Evidence does not confirm earlier reports that the Hunter, which is on non-intervention patrol, was damaged by a bomb from an insurgent 'plane. It is-believed the damage was due to a floating mine or an internal explosion. EIGHT KILLED. INJURED NUMBER 24. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON*, May 13. It is now reported that the casualties on the Hunter were eight killed and 24 injured.
