TO-DAY IN GHRISTCHURCH. CHAIN STORES ACTIVE. WILSONS CEMKXT EASE.. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Chain stoics again commuurfeil most attention this morning, hut breweries, which shared the Held of interest yesterday, slackened off. The c-.ill was rather quiet, and many issues were altogether ncKlectcd. Banks were a little uncertain. Nationals of Australasia, after selling 1/ down <\t £7 16, , were on offer at £~ 15/. Nationals of New Zealand were wanted at £3 2, 9. There were no quotations for New Zealand*. New Zealand Breweries, which sold yesterday up to £3 1/6. had sellers at that figure this morning, and buyers 9d below. Dunedins were firm, from £1 8/6 to £\ 10/. A weak selling offer of £1 12 9 for Wilsons Cements wus a surprise. Buyers showed no interest. Consolidated Bricks remained weak, with seller at 8/3. The chain store group had fair activity. Coles sold at £5 16 3 and £o 16 . with more sellers at the latter figure.- Woolworths (Sydney) were stronger, but the rights lost a few shillings to final quotations between £4 18/ and £5 2/. ■ West Australians improved 1/, to £6 1!)'. Broken Hill Souths again had attention at yesterday's final rate of £2 o '9, but Lyells were quoted between £2 6/11 and £2 7/2, and had no sales. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
