RUGBY LEAGUE.
CORONATION DANCE HELD. A very gay affair was the Coronation dance held at the Peter Pan last night by the Auckland Rugby Football League. Over eijrht hundred people were present and swing music, supplied by Theo Walter's Band, considerably brightened the proceedings. The ladies' committee comprised:— Mrs. R. Doble, wearing black taffetas; Mrs. F. Thompson, who wore 'black C'hantilly lace relieved with violet; Mrs. T. Chernside, in rose cloque; Mrs. A. Scott, black cire satin; Mrs. I. Stonex, black crushed velvet. On arrival the guests were received by Mrs. J. A. Lee, wife of the president of the league, who wore black panne velvet. She was presented with a bouquet in Coronation colours by Mrs. Ivan Culpan, chairman of the ladies' social committee. Among those present were:—Mesdames C. Carlaw, J. Redwood, A. Ferguson, F. T. Faulkner, V. Gemmell, R. Caple, J. Doble, H. Byrnes, D. Collins, J. Lewis, K. McCarthy, J. Arnott, E. Eldershaw, E. Reid, P. Rowlands, J. Vere, M. Lewis, B. Lvnds, I. Sullivan, E. Lawson, N.
