SIMULTANEOUS GAMES. | A visit to the New Lynn Chess Club 1 was paid by the Hungarian champion,; Mr. Lajos Steiner. last night. The , Mayor, Mr. George Lawson, in extending him a welcome, referred to the fillip that chess had received by his visit to the j Dominion. It was an ancient game, he I said, and it was pleasing to know that it was being taken up in some of the school*. There was nothing better that he could recommend as a mental exercise and stimulant. Mr. Steiner played 2(5 simultaneous games, winning all but one.
