A priae of 5/ will be awarded to the boy or girl under 18 years of age, who, in the opinion of the judge, submits the most promising work.
A delightful tale from the pen of Marie Greig, age 16, of Wanganui, "In the Garden of the Roses," this week receive* the first award of 5/.
Many original stories were submitted and the majority ol these attained quite • high standard. The fact that the winning story had just that "different" touch, and was well written, influenced the judge when making his decision.
