MINING NEWS.
ALEXANDER MINES. A dividend of 1/ per share (free of income tax) has been declared on all the shares in Alexander Mines, Limited (Reefton), and will be payable on May 17. 1937. This dividend represents a distribution of £3750 to shareholders, which makes a total of £45.000 paid in dividends since operations commenced. RETURNS OF COMPANIES. Big River (Reefton).—Gold return for month of April. Battery department: 180 tons of ore crushed for 138oz 13dwt melted gohl. Valued & 1000. Cyanide department: No clean up has been made. In addition: Concentrates paved previouslv seveu tons, concentrates saved Tluring April three tons, total ten tons; value, £ 180. Note: In estimating the above values gold has been taken at 145/ per tine ounce. Alexander Gokimines, Limited (Reefton).—:Gold return for month of April, 1937. Battery department : 340 tons of ore crushed for lOOoz lOdwt melted gold. Cyanide department: 220 tons of sands treated for 48oz Udwt of bullion. Total estimated value. £1423. In addition: 71 tons concentrates were saved valued at £240. Note: In estimating the above values gohl has been taken at 145/ per tine ounce. ruddy's Point (Central Otaso).—SOoz for 30 days. King Solomon. —lloz Sdwts. Maori Gully.—ssoz lldwt for 137 hours. Golden Nnuds.—H7oz 7dwt for .'!0 shifts. Argo Dredge.—TOoz for 130 hours, and 14,000 yards. Mataki Junction (Murchison).—For week ended May 6 Gloz for 122 hours, and 24,000 yards dredged.
