UNPROFITABLE COWS.
HEAVY OUIXIXG IN WAIKATO.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this aav.
Evidence that dairy farmers are culling their herds more vigorously this autumn is given by the fact that "record entries of bpner cattle have been a feature at Waikato saleyards during the past few weeks, up to 4000 being traded. It is clear that farmers are ridding themselves of all unprofitable cows whose low production has been revealed by herd testing. This year 118,000 cows have been tested by the New Zealand Co-operative Herd Testing Association, against 102.000 last year. Highly satisfactory values for boners have been received.
