MR. REDWOOD'S VISIT.

At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby Control Board last evening, a trustee, Mr. E. J. Phelan, presiding in the absence of Mr. G. Grey Campbell, who was indisposed, a cordial welcome was extended to the new president of the New Zealand Council, Mr. J.. A. Redwood, who invited the Auckland League's co-operation in a scheme for more intensive interleague match contact throughout New Zealand. Mr. Phelan and other members assured Mr. Redwood that the Auckland League was prepared, as usual, to make sacrifices in the larger interests of the game. A sub-committee was appointed to further confer with the council.

It was decided to ask the junior management to supply curtain-raisers to the Maori-Pakeha match at Carlaw Park on Wednesday (Coronation Day) for the new Carlaw trophy presented by Mr. H. Walmsley. The Auckland Football Association (Inc.) wrote expressing its sincere thanks for permission to use Carlaw Park for the Second Soccer Test against the English amateur team on June 19. The Northeote Club's request for a senior match in the suburb in aid of the 3Ung George V. Memorial Fund was held over pending discussion on special suburban matches contemplated. Mr. G. Grey Campbell and Mr. Culpanwere deputed to attend a conference with the City Council in regard to ground charges. A suggestion for the amalgamation of the Tuakau and Waiuku centres, with assurance of town team co-operation, was approved. Mr. \V. Mincham stated that the Referees' Association had heartily supported the new Appointment Board. Transfers granted:—J. W. Donald, North Shore Albions to City Rovers; C. R.
