AMALGAMATION PLAN.
OPPOSITION BY COUNTIES,
A POLL FAVOURED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, this day.
At a representative meeting of the Tuapeka, Bruce and Clutha County Councils it was unanimously decided that the combined meeting was strongly opposed to the proposed amalgamation of the three counties, as it was considered that no greater economy or efficiency would be attained if the proposal were effected. It was further urged that in the interests of democracy a poll be insisted upon.
