EMBASSY THEATRE. The Coronation and Errol Flyrra arq team mates at the Embassy Theatre this week with the two films. '"The King's People" and "The Green Light," occupying the bill on the programme which opened to-day. '"The Green Light" is a powerfully emotional drama of the medical profession, starring the popular lrishAustraliaVi actor Errol Flynn, seen recently in "The Charge of the Light Brigade."' It is by the author of "Magni--1 ficent Obsession." Lloyd C. Douglas. Support is provided by blonde Anita Louise, brunette Margaret Lindsay and the veteran Sir Cedric Hardwicke. "The King's People" is a Coronation epic of Britain's history over 37 years and the five reipis of that period. The late John Drinkwater interviews such famous people as George Bernard Shaw, the late Sir Austen Chamberlain and Lady Astor, each of whom voices inspiring confidence in the future of the British countries. The actual revord of the Sovereigns and their people begins with scenes front the end of Victoria's reign and passes then to Edward VII. to show the new and strengthening contact between King and people and the growing bond of equality between the wide-flung members of the Empire—a bond made firmer bv the Great \y ar and the noble reign of George V. The post-war boom, the depression, the return of prosperity, the illness and death of George V. and the brief rule of Edward \ 111. lead the story to the beginning of the reign of George VI. and Elizabeth. REGENT THEATRE. Thr?e men. an«'. possibly four, find Mae AA est tiieir '"big moments" in the glamorous star's newest picture, ''Go est. 1 oung Man," to be released at the Regent Theatre to-morrow. Romance Xo. 1 is with the newly wed Lyle Talbot, cast as an old "flame" of hers who has become a prominent politician and finds it good publicity to "spark" with the glamorous star portrayed by Miss West. Talbot knew her when—the star knew him when they called him "Butch." Romance Xo. 2 is with "tall, blonde and handsome Randolph Scott, cast as farm boy inventor "with large and sinewy muscles." She wants him to "Go West" to Hollywood. She has helped so many men to realise themselves, as she pute it. and Scott has an invention for motion pictures. Romance Xo. 3 is with Warren William, playing a Press agent who accompanies the star on her personal appearance trip to the "movie"' palaces, primarily to keep her from getting married. They fight and bicker. about her romances and the marriage clause in her contract. William extricates her from all her entanglements, but somehow gets involved himself. A fourth romance k also_ suggested with Etienne Girardot. a professor — this, however, is strictlv comedy. MAORI CONCERT PARTY. Princess Te Puea Herangi's concert party gave a diversified programme at the State Theatre, Devonport. last evening before a large audience. . There were action songs and hakas, and special items were given by Inia Te Wiata. A tour is being made by the party to raise funds for completion of seven war canoes which will be used in the centennial celebrations in 1940. The concerts are proving popular. LITTLE THEATRE PLAY. An auspicious beginning has been made for its 1937 season by the Auckland Little Theatre Society, which is currently presenting Eugene O'Xeill's famous play Anna Christie" in the Town Hall Concert Chamber until Saturday night. Mr Ron Bowie i<j producer, and a capable cast of players, splendidly cast, interprets the principal roles.
