In the €rst bout of the Christchurch wrestling season Hal Rumberg. 16.6. beat Tom Mead. 15.5, on points, each securing one fall. Mead took the first fall in the fourth round with a body press after a succession of flying tackles. Rumberg equalised in the seventh round with a body press, after heavy dumps.
