The election of officers at the Waiuku institute resulted: President. Mrs. Madill (re-elected); secretary, Mrs. W. M. Campbell; treasurer and vice-presi- ; dent, Mrs. Alefounder; senior vicepresident, Mrs. J. Muir; hostess. Mrs. J Muir; vice-president. Mrs. Kddv. Mrs. i MeEwen was awarded first prize for a competition for three jars of preserved fruit. Miss X'arkes, of Auckland, demonstrated cooking by electricit v. On display was a unique gold-plated' spoon an exact replica of the anointing spoon to be used by the Archbishop of "Canterbury at the Coronation eeremonv. It was sent as a gift from the English link. West Byfleet, to commemorate the crowning of His Majesty King George TURANGAARERE. The April meeting of the Turangaarere Women's Institute was presided over bv the new president. Mrs. Redman, assisted by Miss Bartell. Mrs. Barteli v. ivs clected to take charge of the trading : 1 table for the following year; Mrs. Pohe i as lilirarain.
