NOTED SAILING SHIP.
C. B. Pedersen Reported Sunk After Collision. MISHAP OFF AZORES. United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 9.30 a.m.) GOTHENBURG, April 26. It is reported that the C. B. Pedersen, one of the Finnish fleet of sailing vessels engaged in the Australian grain trade, collided with a Glasgow steamer, the Chagres. Captain Alexander, owner of the ship, received information that she foundered after collision with an unnamed ship off the Azores. The crew of 32 were saved. The last report of the sailer's position received by the owner was on Friday last when the Pedersen was 000 sea milee south-west of the Azores. She was then encountering adverse winds. The C. B. Pedereen is a eteel fourmaeted barque of 2142 tone, owned by a Swedish shipping company, of which Mr. Alex. Pedereen is manager. She wae built in 1891, and has been known ae Svecia, Elsa, Olander, Fern and Emanuele Accame. Her present port of registry is Gothenburg. The barque is 289 ft long, 40ft beani and draws 25ft loaded. She left Port Germein, South Australia, on January 24, in charge of Captain Brute, with a cargo of wheat, sailing for Falmouth for ordere.
