SEVERAL HORSES SCHOOLED. DAVOLO AND TUNXELLER RESUME. (.By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Although there was nothing but slowpace work on the Riccarton tracks this morning a few jumpers provided eome interest. Arctic Star nnd Flashlight gave a good display over four hurdles. Flashlight then went over four brush fences, finishing well over tlie double. He looks a. promising novice. Arctic Star will be given a run over the fences later in the week, with a view to competing in the steeplechase at Washdyke next month, following a hurdle engagement at Ashburton. Streamline went once round the fences. which he jumped in good style. Grey Boy shaped well once round the fences, though he went-only at-a eldW pace. Arrow Glen was given a turn in the jumping ring, after which E. Sv Jennings lode him several times over two' pony hurdles, which lie jumped very well. .<•• C. I>avey had DavoU> on - the track, 'hie: first appearance since his' retirement «aVly' iii March on account of strangles. He looks in good health, and it is intended to give him a race at Oamaru this week, though he cannot be at his beet for some time. R. K. Smith injured a toe in his fall with Haere Tonu in the hurdle race at Waehdyke on Saturday, and he ie under medical treatment. Spenrmnreh has become affected in the v-in.-?, and hp in to be operated on. It is Anpod ho will be in work again soon in preparation for jumping races before the •nrl of the winter campaign After racing thorn at Wnshdvkp on Saturday J. S. Shaw sent Cyrillian. TTelnisn and Priinnk on to Oamaru, where they have engagements this week. The fir»t-named pair will be ridden by G. Kidttwny, while A. Mwwervy will be on I'rimnk. T'lnneller is back in steady work after t»-~,ug operated on for wind fr'oublo. D. O'Connor will ride Dropped Catch in the High-weight races at Oamaru this week. O'oek Gold und the three jumpers Palm, Monastic, and Sky Pilot are Riccarton candidates nominated for the Egmont meeting.
