LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AFFAIRS OF REFEREES. At a meeting of Auckland Rugby League Keterees Association last evening, Mr. L. Bull presiding, the executive had no recommendation to make on the appointment board, which was announced to constitute an appointee from each association and the Auckland League, the chairman of which was nominated by the control .board as third man or umpire. In agreeing to the nomination, a general discussion ensued in which the question of remuneration to referees was raised. A letter was authorised to the board on this subject, asking whether there was any objection to the formation of a grading committee by the association. Schools' Committee. The schoolboys' management last evening received a record number of nominations for the season's competitions—eight teams for the senior grade, 15 for intermediate and 17 for the junior grade.
