"GANGSTER CRICKET."

English Critic on Bodyline

Bowling.

THE GAME'S WORST BLUNDER. LOXDOX, April 9. Under a chapter heading, "Torso Bowling,'' Mr. K. H. D. Sewell scathingly criticises bodyline bowling in a book, "From a Window at Lord's." "Of all the blunders committed on the cricket field, even though its commission helped win the 'rubber,' intensive fast bowling with a regular synod of six, seven and eight men on the leg side was the worst," he writes. "It was only king gangster cricket, and the only merciful thing was that it did not happen at Lord's."

Mr. E. H. D. Sewell is an old Essex cricketer and Rugby footballer, who has been for many years a prominent English critic on both games.
