SIAM FEARS JAPAN.
Seizure Possible During War
In Europe.
SINGAPORE AND HONGKONG. (Received 1.30 p.m.) BANGKOK, April 9. "Japan may seize Hongkong, Siam and Singapore in the event of a European war," said the Defence Minister, Colonel Luang Pibul, in a broadcast advocating a stronger Siam. He added that Japan's plan would probably involve, after the seizure of Siam, a southward advance to take Singapore in the rear, which would be easy. Siam, if unable to stem the onset, might be crushed between the opposing parties.
