LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
JUNIOR BOARD AFFAIRS. XEW MEMBERS WELCOMED. Opening the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, the chairman, Mr. D. Wilkie, extended a heart}'- welcome to two new members, Messrs. Skinner (Referees' Association) and McXamara (ex-eeeretary, Glenora Club)., who suitably responded. Main business was to discuss recommendations arising from the annual meeting. The suggestion of one club that junior grade weights be increased was considered, but in view of constitutional changes entailed in alterations it was decided to take no action at present. However, it was decided to ask the weighing-in officers to watch the position and report. It was decided to endorse complaints on the delay in payment of the transfer fee by senior clube taking juniors, that the three-match trial or probationary period be abolished and that no recommendation be made regarding the proposal to increase the fee from £2 to £10. Team nominations are to close on April 20 and weighing-in is to commence immediately.
