LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
RICHMOND ROVERS CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING AFFAIRS. The twenty-third annual meeting of the Richmond Koveie Rugby League Club was held in the Gaiety Hall, Grey Lynn, ]aet evening , , when Mr. B. W. Davie preeided over a large attendance. The report eaid that ten teams and two seven-a-eide echool teams took part-in the Auckland competitions. Though not as successful ae usual in winning championehipe, all teame perfornied well. The eeniorb -won the champion of champions. Succesaful aleo were the eixth grade, senior echool team and the eeven-a-side A eide, while the sevenths won the knock-out. The club retained the Davis Points Shield, open to all clubs. The eenior team maintained its reputation for playing good football and much credit was due to the coach, Mr. T. A. McClymont. The team played at Taumarunui in an exhibition match with King Country. Congratulations were extended to R. Powell, W. 'L'ittleton and E. Mincham, wiio won New Zealand honours. Meesrs. Yerrall and Kearey were thanked for their services as maseeuis.. The whowinjjs of the senior reserves and other teams were eomnientr-il upon in detail. The juniors were not as successful as in former years, but the echool section fully justified iteelf. Various flub trophies had been presented at the annual picnic held at Tui Glen. With assets worth £216 17/. the chib ended the season with a credit balance of £143 7/, and looked forward to the year ahead with optimism. The retiring club captain. Mr. A. Hyland, gave an elaborate.commentary on the teams and awarded the Harry Johns Memorial Cup to the eixth grade winners, the team manager, Mr. T. Williams, and vice-captain. D. Williams, receiving the handsome encased trophy from the president. Mr. W. Mincham's special cap for goal-kicking was awarded to E. McCarthy (eeventh grade), who kicked 40 goals in 17 matches. . Tributes were paid to the chairman of the committee, Mr. W. A. Swift, whose 21 years' association with the club as player and official had been marked by the gift of a substantial piece of furniture. Mr. Swift warmly acknowledged the comOfficere were elected ae follow: Patron, Mr W. J- Holdeworth; vice-patron, Mr. J. Redwood, een.; president, Mr. B. W. Davis; vice-presidents, same as last year, with three new nominations; chairman, Mr W A. Swift* honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. R. Dick; club captain, Mr Ralph Jenkineon; manager of senior team, Mr. A. Hyland; school delegate, Mr. C. Rowe; audftor, Mr. J. A. Redwood.
