WIDE SABLE BANDS.

BRAIDED CROWNLESS HATS.

HOLLYWOOD TO DAY.

(By SHEILAH GRAHAM.)

HOLLYWOOD, January 17,

Grace Moore, minus pounds of weight, is doing right well by the gowns ehe wears in her latest film, "When You're in Love," alias "Interlude." Her drees designer, Bernard Newman, ie also to be congratulated, particularly for the novel housecoat of pale peach lame ehot with gold. Cut on princess lines, the gown buttons from the low, round neckline clear to the floor, achieving dramatic fullness by means of an eightgore ekirt. The neckline is outlined by a flaring collar closed at the front by a double eoftly draped bow. The large puffed eleevee flaunt bandings of Russian sable.

Miss Moore looks almost cute in chic pyjamas, specially created for her by Newman. A tailored knee-length jacket of black and white printed satin contraets the troueere and throat scarf of white. The singer wears a large diamond and ruby clip on the left rever of her pyjama jacket, which boasts puffed sleevee, large patch pockete and a self fabric belt.

Another breath-taking garment worn by Miss Moore in the picture is a hostess gown with large puffed eleeves end a full, circular ekirt fashioned over a foundation slip of fleeh pink fan-pleated chiffon. A large bouquet of matching eilk and chiffon flowers closes the front deoolletage.

And to wear for an outdoor sequence there ie an attractive afternoon coat of block ■ broadcloth with lavish trim of silver fox. The accompanying l draped turban of black felt is the inspiration of John Fredericks.

Fay Wray, looking more beautiful than ever since the birth of her baby girl three months ago, was seen at the I'rocadero wearing a frock of powder blue lame, shot with gold, street length, plus a matching, braided crownleee hat. Shoes, gloves and bag were aleo of brown suede kidskin. The braided, crownless hat, incidentally, is a new Hollywood fashion note and Miss Wray has had several duplicates made to match the various frocks in her ward- ! robe.

Talking about hats, the stove-pipe curiosity worn by Myrna Loy in "After the Thin Man," is starting a definite millinery vogue. The hat, of brown euede, features a tall crown, wider at the bottom than at the top. The brim is fashioned from a triple roll of suede ropes.

Mary Carlisle, blonde Paramount actress, is the first starlet to appear with a true blue spring model chapeau. Of black faille, the beret sports a froufrou of vari-coloured gro&grain ribbons to accent the top of the hat.

Madge Evan*' newest top coat is a smart polo model of natural chamois. The coat has double-stitched eeams, wide lapels and a back pleat from shoulders to hemline, and is lined throughout in eoft brown cashmere.

Una Merkel's latest shoulder cape is fashioned from material that looks like spun glass. The fabric i 3 soft and ehimmering and of iridescent colouring. The cap© features a brief, standing collar and fastens about the throat with a narYow rope of seed pearls.

Jeanette Mac Donald has bought herself a pair of interesting "two leather" glovee. The pair, gauntlet in type, showe the palm of brown kid, the top of beige suede. Copper bracelete fasten the glovee at the wrist.

Tassels after being on again and off again, are in again, all of which is to build up for the information that Margaret Lindsay ie wearing taeeels at the ends of the Bahama blue eash she knot* about a black wool jersey street dress; and that Jane Wyman wears a red taeeelled cord about her neck like a scarf when clad in a dark blue tailored suit.
