WOMEN'S PROGRESS CLUB.
A most enjoyable afternoon was held yesterday by the Women's Progress Clu'i of the Higher Thought Centre. Mrs. Charles Dickens who presided also welcomed several new membere. The speaker for the afternoon was Sister Lewin, who gave a moet inspiring talk on "Our Treasure Chart," the speaker very definitely pointing out the necessity of harmonising faith and works.
Mrs. Black sanjr several solos, Mrs. W. Beniams acting as accompanist. Musical iteme were also rendered by the strinjred orchestra of the Temple, including Mesdamea Goldie, Probert and Miss Pilkington. Mrs. G. Sturgess proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs. Black and the musicians, which was heartily carried bv the club.
A most pleaeant little ceremony took place during the afternoon, when Mrs. Charles Dickens, the president, dedicated Francis Lewin Stevenson, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson. Mrs. Morris gave a short reading and afternoon tea. handed around by the committee ladies, closed the meeting.
