This, in Mr. J. a. Edward s opinion, was not good. He wae opposed to any half measures. After some discussion it wns decided on Mr tergiiflon's motion that tenders be called for 600 yards of metal, as the bad state of tins footpath called for immediate attention. Alfriston Road.—A letter was read from Mr. (.'ulley drawing the board's attention to the loose metal on Alfriston Road, which made cycling dangerous. Mr. Culley supwsted that the board should provide a fairway for cyclist* on this road, which would prevent riders mooting with accidents. As this road was under the Main Highways jurisdiction it was decided to advise Mr. (.'illley to that effect. Similar requests from cyclists regarding Sturdee Road were received. Water Loan.- The Loans Board's approval of loan ;ii.|>l i<>.l for a water supply scheme was received. A special meeting of the boail \\ .is nrningrd for Thursday week to iinance detaiis.
