Your leader of Thursday coin plains that if the proposed union of unions takes place such an organisation might exercise,an undue influence over the (Government. In other words, an effective federation of employees is bad for the country. But what about the Employers' Federation? It exercised a considerable influence over the last Government, as witness the destruction of the Arbitration Court and the 10 per cent cut. Do you consider the Employers' Federation bad for the country? What in Rauce for the goo*c i* sauee for the pander. If it is a right principle for employers as a class to form a federation in their interests, then it is equally legitimate for the workers to follow the example they have »et. Personally, I think class war deplorable, but I also think that you cannot consistently condemn the idea of a federation of employees and at the same time countenance the existence of the federation of employer*.
