POST MORTEM ORDERED.
(Bj Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KAWAKAWA, this day. A single domestic, Margaret Dorothy Walker, aged 23, who was found at 12.40 yesterday morning lying face downward and unconscious on the floor of a detached room she occupied at the homestead of Captain F. W. Voelcher, of Kerikeri, where she was employed, died later. Captain Voelcher had returned to the house after a dance and, seeing a light in Miss Walker's room, Mrs. Voelcher went to offer her a cup of tea. On finding the young woman lying on the floor she called Captain Voelcher, and he took her to Dr. J. A. Grieg's house at Kerikeri, where she died at 1.20 a.m. The young woman attended a picture theatre the previous evening and also a dance, leaving alone at 11.45 pan. An inquest opened last evening at Kerikeri by the district coroner, Mr. TJ. V. Dunlop, was adjourned after evidence of identification had been given by the father, Mr. H. V. Walker, of Hikurangi. The coroner ordered a postmortem examination.
