SHORTER WEEK TRIAL.
The three months' trial of a five-day week for the office staff of the Auckland Transport Board ended on February 3, Mr. A. E. Ford, manager, reported at to-day's meeting of the board. The system had proved satisfactory, he stated, and he reeommended that it be continued. This was agreed to by the board, the Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C., who presided, remarking that the Government was highly gratified at the success which had attended the adoption of the five-dty week.
