MOTORIST FINED £25.
IK CAB. WHEN INTOXICATED.

WELLINGTON, this day,
William Knox (63), a merchant tailor, who had never previously been in any kind of trouble, was charged to-day with intoxication while in charge of a car. He pleaded guilty. It was stated accused was seen to go up to his car unsteadily and get into the driver's wsat. Counsel stated that Knox had no intention of driving the car, but was waiting for his son to drive him home, and this was explained to the police at the time. The magistrate imposed a £25 fits.
