AUSTRALIA TO SEEK OTTAWA REVISION.
EMPIRE PARLEYS. New Economic Conference Foreshadowed. COMMONWEALTH AS VENUE. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. J. A. Lyons, Commonwealth Prime Minister, states that action is U> be taken this year by the Commonwealth (ioverniuent to secure revision of the Ottawa agreement.
Foreshadowing another Imperial Economic Conference similar to that held at Ottawa in 1932, Mr. Lyons said that no revision of the Ottawa agree incut would be attempted at the Imperial Conference in London in Ma v.
The only question which would be raised at that conference, or in later London conversations, would be the method of obtaining revision of the agreement nt a later gtage.
Mr. Lyons indicated that the Federal Ministry had accented the principle of economic cooperation throughout the Empire which had been established at Ottawa If a decision was made to hold another conference it was possible the Commonwealth would propose that it be held in Australia. The only disadvantage was Australia's distance from some parts of the Empire.
