wintry week.end in south
(By Telegraph —Own Correspondent.) WESTPORT, this day. Snow lightly blanketed the distant hills and appeared to a low level on the Southern Alps during the week-end after a sudden wintry change in the weather overnight. Heavy rain was experienced yesterday, and roads were reported to be in a bad condition. Motorists have been warned to use caution, especially on the West Coast and Buller Gorge highways, and also on the Otira Gorge Road.
