I I, There is keen competition for various ! positions in the New Zealand Labour j Party according to the list of nomina- ; tions which has just reached Auckland. I For the position of president there are eleven nominations, namely, thoee of 1 Messrs. J. K. Archer. P. M. Butler, Clyde L. Carr, M.P. (the present president), C. H. Chapman, M.P., D. W. ! Coteman, M.P., J. O'Brien, M.P., A. S. j Richards, M.P., J. Roberts, F. W. ; Schramm, M.P., J. Thorn, M.P., and 1 Mrs. M. Semple. I There are twenty-five nominations for the position of vice-president. The ' secretary-treasurer, Mr. D. Wilson, has been returned unopposed, having received I nominations from 183 affiliated organisations. Five members are required for the central executive and fifty-one 1 nominations have been received.
